Strategic planning and calculated decision-making has been critical for all businesses in 2009 not just for growth, but also for sustainability and it will continue to be so throughout 2010.
It’s been a busy, at times frantic, year and I’m looking forward to a relaxing break with my family and friends and camping in Kaiteriteri.
But before I go, I’d like to mention a few highlights and share some cool designer bits and bobs to get you fired up for 2010.
The design council has done much strategic planning towards the end of this year and will be using that to bring new and exciting events and initiatives to our fantastic members next year.
Highlights for 2009
The Designers Speak Plurals events: focused discussion on cross-sector collaborative projects between design studio teams, and sometimes with their clients.
The DINZ Best Design Awards at the Auckland Museum was a fantastic event that was well worthy of the extremely high calibre entrants.
One rapidly growing design community in the Mainland really stood out this
year for its proactive support of DINZ events. Go Dunedin! You guys rock!
