The Best Design Awards

The Designers Institute celebrates the best of best in design for that year with the Best Design Awards. It has become known as the ‘Oscars’ for design. 

  • This awards programme for Graphics, Interactive, Product and Spatial design attracts entries from all over New Zealand, and Australia and is open to members and non-members
  • Best has also introduced to the Awards programme two new awards  - the Nga Aho Award (cultural collaborations) and the Best Effect Award. (how design was effective to the success of the business outcome)

Dyson Product Design Awards

The Designers Institute supports the Dyson Product Design Award and provides judges selected from our Professional Membership.

This award aims to promote design excellence for our recently graduated and emerging product designers and build connections between the design communities in Britain and New Zealand. Finalists of the New Zealand award are then entered into the international James Dyson Awards.
