BeST Design Awards 2008 Annual

The annual BeST Design Awards, the Designers’ Institute of New Zealand recognises the achievements of our product, spatial and graphic designers and students in the New Zealand design equivalent of the Oscars.

In this celebration of design excellence, DINZ and the wider commercial community acknowledges the work being produced for clients from all business sectors. The BeST Design Awards is a catalyst to building greater recognition for New Zealand design both nationally and internationally.

To ensure that the work entered into the BeST Design Awards is recorded, the Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ) published the first BeST Design Awards 2007 Annual.

DINZ is proud to announce we have published the BeST Design Awards 2008 Annual.

The Annual presents in a quality format, a record of New Zealand’s design history and is both an essential reference book and a collector’s item.
The design industry is extremely competitive and the BeST Design Awards Annual publications are ‘viewed as being a powerful tool in providing potential clients (and employers) with confidence in selecting design services’.

Who is in the BeST Design Awards 2008 Annual
The aim is to make the annual inclusive of all entrants, thus embracing the broadest cross-section of the hard work that has gone into the design year.
• All entrants to the programme will feature in the publication.
• The finalists are well-profiled within their discipline sector according to level of their success - Stringer (supreme award for the sector), Gold, Silver and Bronze.
• Non-finalists receive a thumbnail image with mention of design studio and client.

Target Audience for the BeST Design Awards 2008 Annual
2000 copies will be distributed to a targeted audience:
• DINZ Members and DINZ Sponsors (receive complimentary copies)
• BeST Design Awards Sponsors and all entrants including designers, additional consultants (receive complimentary copies)
• Better By Design clients
• Selected book retailers – eg. Parsons Bookstore, Gordon Harris Ltd
• Some 20 international design organisations with whom the DINZ has a relationship – eg. Design Institute of Australia (DIA); Association for Graphic Design in Australia (AGDA); International Council of Graphic Design Association (ICOGRADA), International Council of Societies Industrial Design (ICSID); Korean Institute for Design Promotions (KIDP) to name but a few.
