Bachelor of Design Overview

This degree provides the fundamental skills for a career in the evolving creative industries. It provides a number of pathways in six majors:

• Digital Design
• Fashion
• Graphic Design
• Product Design
• Spatial Design
• Textiles for Fashion

The degree is undertaken over three years, with increasing specialisation in your chosen major.

What this qualification covers
Year One
The first year covers core studies in Design Studio and
Theory, as well as a range of elective papers that introduce the majors.
Year Two
Students will build on the conceptual foundations of year one and follow their major pathway. Students develop specific technical knowledge and skills in a context of understanding design processes and theories.
Year Three
Year three students specialise further in their major and develop specific research based projects. The programme is structured to emphasise creative development in the early stages and then to bring this creativity into a more professional context as the qualification continues.
