Bachelor of Design - Product Design

Product Design is an exciting and rapidly changing profession. No longer solely concerned with the design of manufactured goods, this major focuses on the design of products, services and systems that will benefit individuals and society as a whole. At AUT a great product is defined as the end result [product] of a design process that explores, challenges and/or meets and exceeds a clearly defined set of parameters. In this sense the term ‘product’ covers a broad range of outcomes. Products can be tangible, three-dimensional manufactured objects such as consumer products, furniture, packaging, sports equipment, or can be product interfaces and product related systems and services. Products can also be great solutions to real world problems and opportunities.
