95 - Dulux BeST Design Awards 2008 Exhibition in Tauranga

The Dulux BeST Design Awards 2008 Exhibition opened on the 3rd November in Creative Tauranga. Prior to this event held at Tauranga Art Gallery was the Best of the BeST Designers Speak with presentations by BeST Design Awards Stringer Winners Alt Group and Formway Furniture with Silver Winner Stack talking about their winning projects.

100 - Design Talk - Talks and Tour with Robert L Peters 2007

Canadian-based former president of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), Robert L Peters visited New Zealand in November 2007 as an external moderator for Wanganui School of Design. He spent a week touring New Zealand design studios as a guest of the Designers Institute of New Zealand, with Design Talks in Auckland and Wellington. Robert visited studios in Auckland - Inhouse Design, Shift, Alt Group, Shine, Studio Alexander; Wellington studios - Experimenta, KLM, Designworks, Len Cheesman, Stephen Cicala, Base Two, Moxie. Robert also gave two presentations in Wellington and Auckland.

Was held on 'Business of Sustainable Design' at Auckland War Memorial Museum 5 October 2007.

Bombay BeST Design Awards Exhibition

In 2005 the BeST Design Awards became a travelling exhibition kindly sponsored by Bombay Sapphire. The exhibition was shown in Auckland at St Paul Gallery, AUT; Wellington in Shed 11 where also there were BeST category winners who gave a presentation on aspects of their work; Christchurch held the exhibition in the Design & Atrs College.

Christchurch Regional Committee

David Lovegrove as DINZ Council Representative has formed a Regional Committee in Christchurch. The Regional Committee aims to bring the Christchurch design community together for knowledge sharing

Designers Speak - Gert Jan Leusink April 07

This presentation held in April in both Auckland at the Auckland War Memorial Museum and in Wellington at the New Dowse featured Dutch designer Gert Jan Leusink. Gert Jan talked about his experience as a designer in the early years of Droog Design offering insight into the Inspiration behind Droog Design and its international success.

DIBA 2005

The Diba awards, which were presented at a function last night (Thursday, October 13) at the Auckland City Art Gallery, were established to identify and recognise New Zealand companies that have achieved commercial success through investment in good design and who have a high "innovation quotient."
