About Stephen Ellis

I am a fine arts graduate who developed design skills on the job. I fell in love with the moving image on the set of "The Hunger" in London in 1981. After returning to New Zealand I joined the graphics department of TVNZ, designing titles and graphics for a huge variety of productions, staying there for ten years and rising to manager. Since 1994 I've been a freelance designer for film and television. Credits include: "The New Zealand Wars" (1998) "Wild Asia" (1998) "Moko Toa" (1999) "Her Majesty" (2000) Maori Television (on-air identity, 2003) "River Queen" (2004) The bulk of my work is now storyboard and concept art for film and commercials.
