Continuing Education Programme (CPD)
DINZ is committed to developing a range of professional services for members at all stages of their career in order to assist them in practicing professionally. Professional seminars are held as part of the DINZ Means Business programme which covers Designers Speak, Design Talk, Design View, Design Business, Design Law and Design Management. The DINZ Means Business events are run nationally.
Legal
As a member of the Designers Institute you are entitled to legal consultation with our honorary solicitors, Clendon Feeney. Access to this service is through the Executive Director only. This service is a fifteen minute phone consultation. The institute offers a mediation service. Legal issues such as intellectual property law, copyright, disputes and setting up professional engagements and services are seminars available under DINZ Means Business "Design Law" series.

Each member has the right to list employment opportunities wanted or offered on our website. This is in a secure section of our website for members only to view and members are regularly informed to check website to view new positions on offer.
Complimentary Magazines
A number of magazines including PRODESiGN are provided free to members. AGM Publishing distributes these in consideration of membership sectors.

Members are kept Informed regarding national and international design events through the magazines, email newsletters and under the DINZ home page.
General
Many members freely give many hours of their time to lobby Government and expand design opportunities internationally. The Institute and membership have strong ties with Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, USA, China, Japan and the European countries.
BeST Design Awards
The Designers Institute celebrates the best of best in design for that year with the BeST Design Awards. This awards programme for Graphics, Product and Spatial designs, attracts entries from all over New Zealand, members and non-members. Members receive a reduced entry fee rate. The BeST Design Awards finalists are exhibited in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Design in Business Awards (diba)
The Designers Institute are leading edge with this awards programme, which is sponsored by Lexus, in that few award programmes exist internationally whereby they celebrate businesses that use design insights that lead to innovation, or promote businesses that have made a strategic investment in forming and maintaining design cultures. Design Ambassador Award Series
DINZ partnered with the British Council New Zealand and PRODESiGN, hold annually The Design Ambassador series. These awards aim to promote design excellence for our recently graduated and emerging designers and build connections between the design communities in Britain and New Zealand. The Design Ambassador Series encompasses the Dyson Product Design Ambassador Award, Deutz Fashion Design Ambassador Award and the PANPRINT Graphics and New Media Design Ambassador Award. DINZ Website
Members are listed on the website directory. Allocation of a user-name and password will allow access to the members only pages. The website provides information on the Continuing Professional Development Programme called DINZ Means Business; Calendar of events; Work / Projects and Space Opportunity section. DINZ keeps the website relevant and current with regular newsletters directing interest to the 'news board' on the home page. New features are being added throughout the year.
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and Better By Design Directory
DINZ has been strategically involved with NZTE and the development of the Better By Design, Design Directory. This Design Directory includes DINZ Professional Membership. The Design Directory is to help potential business clients on how to select the appropriate designer for their project, and how to brief a designer for the success of the project. www.betterbydesign.co.nz
