The 'Life Cycle Thinking' series of workshops has been proposed by Locus Research and Unitec to provide a crucial bridge for the uptake of sustainable design and development within New Zealand. The series moves beyond general discussion and into specific ideas, tools, methods, and approaches which will be described and engaged with to ensure that participants can apply these skills within their own organisations. Each workshop has a strong interactive learning component which is designed to apply and reinforce key learnings from each session. The series is structured into three accessible workshops on the following topics: __________ Session One : 'Life Cycle Thinking' - A design mindset AUCKLAND - Thursday 12th June Unitec (view photos of the day on ) WELLINGTON - Thursday 19th June Massey University, Theatrette 10A02 CHRISTCHURCH - Thursday 26th June CPIT, (Theatrette to be advised) An introduction to the key concepts within Life Cycle Thinking (LCT). Understanding system oriented thinking in the context of product development. Applying life cycle thinking to design work to create insight. Understanding how life cycle thinking can operate in a conceptual and commercial environment. DINZ however will be introducing Session One: Life Cycle Thinking " A design mindset in both Wellington and Christchurch in June. In addition, there is an accompanying series of articles published in the Focus on Sustainability' section of the April, June and August issues of Prodesign. The three articles introduce the workshop topics and are a primer to engage designers in life cycle thinking. Website: http://www.thinkingdesign.co.nz/ |
